Cascade Medical Center Plans To Replace Aging Facility

Cascade Medical Center in Cascade, Idaho, is looking to replace a 1950s-era hospital in Cascade, according to an article in The Lewiston Tribune.

Situated on 8 acres, the 32,000-square-foot project will add a surgery department, occupational and speech therapies, and expanded diagnostic imaging as well as modernize and expand existing services, including primary and walk-in medical care, emergency, inpatient, skilled nursing, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, and mental health.

To fund construction of the project, the medical center is seeking approval in an upcoming election for up to $19 million in new property taxes, according to the article. The rest of the project would be covered by $2 million the hospital has saved for the project as well as loans, grants, and fundraising by the Cascade Medical Center Foundation.

Plans call for the facility to open in 2025 if the bond issue is approved and other financing is available.
