Kaiser Permanente Plans $1.7B In Expansions In California

Nonprofit health system Kaiser Permanente (Oakland, Calif.) is planning $1.7 billion in expansion projects across Riverside County, Calif., according to the website beckershospitalreview.com.

Among the work is expanding Riverside Medical Center in Riverside, Calif., to increase the hospital’s bed count from 226 to 298, as well as upgrading patient rooms. The $735.4 million project is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2027.

The health system is also adding 93,000 square feet to its Moreno Valley Medical Center in Moreno Valley, Calif. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2023 and will cost an estimated $250.2 million.

Two medical office buildings are also in the works in Murrieta, Calif., and Wildomar, Calif. Together, they will cost $241.3 million.

Additionally, other Kaiser facilities in Riverside County are expected to get $473.1 million in upgrades.
