Education policies get revised after every few years. The New Education Policy (NEP) took place on 29th July 2020 by the Ministry of education. This policy is the latest change made to the Indian education culture. It is the first holistic, inclusive, and participatory approach that involves prominent experts from different domains, various research, feedback, and teachings. The main motto of this education system is not to leave any child behind. The approach used here is learning to learn.
IMPACT ON STUDENTS AND THEIR CAREER:
NEP is giving opportunities for students to learn by providing them first with a learning environment to grow. Students have the golden opportunity to develop the skills they are interested in enhancing. It will serve them a lot in their future career job opportunities. Students have an open choice to focus both on academics and non-academics. Counseling opportunities are accessible to children when they need further guidance for their careers because the formative years are crucial for developing knowledge, skills, and abilities.
IMPACT ON TEACHERS:
Teachers will take more training to improve their skills and capabilities to help children to their best abilities. Teachers will be guiding and counseling students for future career-related queries. Teachers will have structured roles, responsibilities, and recruitment processes. Teachers will have to equip themselves with new-age technological knowledge as courses will be provided by every institution. Every institution will have an assessment regularly to track the progress of teachers. For teachers to learn about career counseling courses will be mandatory.
CONCLUSION:
The best advantage students will receive early on in their education is the possibility to develop their skills. The aim is to provide children will holistic development in all areas like physical, cognitive, mental, social development. College students have a choice to choose subjects and courses according to their interest which will help them for career and job. Teachers are well-trained to provide students with resources to study and career choices. Due to the introduction of NEP, education aims to be research-oriented and learning-centric. We will have to wait and be patient to see how it is executed practically in the future.
