Post-Pandemic Effects

After COVID, the world is slowly returning to normal (if such a thing exists). Slowly, limitations are being lifted, people are going to work, workplaces, schools, and colleges are opening, tests are being conducted offline, and crowding is becoming more typical by the day. As much as we may have desired it at one time, we cannot deny that the same things may today appear overwhelming to the majority of us. It may seem more difficult than ever to begin a conversation.

So here’s the deal: this feeling of overwhelm is genuine. t’s not just you, either. The reason for this is that our brain was in the constant alert mode for over two years, and we woke every day wondering whether stepping out of the home was safe or not, and it took a long time for our brain to rewire. So that initial apprehension of stepping out and talking to a stranger is very natural.

Here are a few things you can try to cope with this:

Take a moment and pause – ground yourself to where you are, what your life looks like and what would you want to do. Make your own choice.

One day at a time – take tiny steps and move at your own pace.

Self-evaluation: ask yourself, “What do I want to do?” ”What am I overwhelmed about?” “What change do I want to make?” “What is my motivation to achieve this?”

Seek assistance if you believe you require assistance. It'll be OK.

Separate reel and real-life – Separate yourself from social media. You are not bound to do anything just because it is popular. Ask yourself what makes sense to me, and how do I want to handle this.

Importance of Professional Counseling: A friend or family member may listen to you, but they aren’t professionally, technically qualified or experienced to offer you professional advice. If you wish you can contact us at MindTribe to receive help from our team of expert psychologists.
